The culture and mythology of Bigfoot is something that has always interested me growing up. How can people be so convinced such a creature exists? What real evidence is there?

It became more and more apparent that photography has a huge part to play in keeping the creature alive. In 1951, a photograph taken by explorer Eric Earle Shipton at Mt Everest base camp sparked off the modern phenomena of Bigfoot. With photography responsible for the birth of the pop culture icon, I wanted to know what the lives of those who believed in Bigfoot in the UK were like, and their daily efforts to prove and disprove evidence.

How you get involved in a community that is as elusive as Bigfoot itself was a challenge. Armed with my knowledge of all things paranormal, through the power of youtube and the entire box set of the X Files, I was ready. Would I meet real life Mulder & Scully? Would I be let in on the best kept secret? Only time could tell. But for now, I was eager to travel to locations where community members of the British Bigfoot Society or  'Report a British Bigfoot' have heard, or even seen a Bigfoot!
